According to early reports, Samsung is considering adding a second antenna on the front or top side of the phone, in addition to the standard rear coil. That could make tap-to-pay a lot smoother, since users wouldn’t have to worry as much about hitting the exact sweet spot on payment terminals.
What makes the rumor more interesting is that it supposedly applies to the entire S26 family—not just the Ultra or other high-end versions. If true, it would mark a rare across-the-board improvement that benefits anyone picking up the new phones.
The change also lines up with Samsung’s push for slimmer hardware. The S26 Ultra, for example, is rumored to come in under 7mm thick, and shifting antenna placement may help the company balance performance with those sleeker designs.
It’s a small adjustment, but one that could make daily use feel noticeably better across Samsung’s 2025 flagships.
