Perplexity is bringing a big upgrade to its Finance dashboard in India: live transcripts of corporate earnings calls. Investors following companies listed on the BSE and NSE can now see real-time text of management commentary as it happens—something usually locked behind expensive terminals or delayed reports.
The transcripts sit alongside a growing suite of India-focused features, including live stock prices, earnings schedules, downloadable financials, historical data, sentiment tracking, and sector breakdowns. All of it is free—no login or subscription required—making Perplexity’s pitch stand out in a market where paywalls are the norm.
The launch seems to be working. Perplexity says usage of its Finance tools in India has jumped eightfold since the spring rollout. The company is also signaling bigger ambitions: its CEO recently traded messages with Zerodha’s founders, hinting at a possible tie-up that could connect AI-driven insights directly with a trading platform.
It’s part of a broader India-first push. Alongside finance tools, Perplexity has been adding local content like live IPL updates and even struck a partnership with Airtel to reach more users.
