Google Pixel users have reported changes in their devices' vibration patterns, describing them as having a "hollow feeling"

Following the March 2025 update, numerous Google Pixel users have reported changes in their devices' vibration patterns, describing them as having a "hollow feeling" with "less thunk." This issue has been observed primarily on Pixel 7 and 8 Pro models, while the Pixel 9 series appears unaffected.

This situation mirrors a similar incident in 2022, where an update weakened haptic feedback on Pixel 6 devices, leading to missed calls due to softer vibrations. Google addressed that issue with a subsequent update approximately two months later.

Currently, it remains unclear whether the recent changes in vibration feedback are intentional or the result of a bug. Google has been contacted for clarification, and users are awaiting further information.
