Google Pixel 9a, set for a 2025 release, might be receiving a notable redesign as per CAD renders

The Google Pixel 9a, set for a 2025 release, is receiving a notable redesign that includes a flat camera module and some key camera changes. The primary camera is shifting from a 64MP sensor to a 48MP sensor, likely the same as the one in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Despite this decrease in resolution, the larger pixel size is expected to improve photo quality. However, the Pixel 9a will still lack a telephoto lens, maintaining the 13MP ultrawide and front-facing cameras from last year's model.

Google is also adding the "Add Me" feature, first introduced in the Pixel 9 series, which uses AI to insert the user into group photos. While the Pixel 9a does see an upgrade over the Pixel 8a, with a larger primary sensor, it remains less advanced than the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, missing out on their telephoto capabilities and the 48MP ultrawide camera.

The Pixel 9a is expected to launch in mid-March 2025, with more leaks likely to emerge as the release date approaches.
