The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is poised to become the thinnest foldable phone on the market when it debuts, potentially surpassing the current leader, the Honor Magic V3. An image recently leaked, purportedly showing the Mix Fold 4's back in a version featuring a fake leather finish. While this image is marked as a work in progress and may not represent the final design, it hints at the sleek and refined aesthetic Xiaomi is aiming for. It’s also suggested that other variants of the Mix Fold 4 might use glass.

The leaked image reveals a quad-camera setup on the rear, similar to its predecessor but arranged differently. The Mix Fold 4 is expected to feature Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and boast a thickness of under 10mm, further emphasizing its ultra-slim profile. It will include a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 1/1.55" sensor, promising high-quality photos. The main camera is supported by a 60 MP 2x telephoto lens with OmniVision OV60A sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide lens, and a 10 MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.
The Mix Fold 4 will also have a substantial 5,000 mAh battery or possibly larger, providing ample power for extended use. It will support 67W wired charging, according to recent certifications, allowing for rapid recharges. The device will also feature an IPx8 rating for water resistance, making it more durable against liquid exposure.
In addition to these specifications, the Mix Fold 4 is anticipated to be launched alongside the Mix Flip, Xiaomi's first attempt at a clamshell-style foldable phone. This launch is expected to occur in the third quarter of this year, specifically rumored for July. As the third quarter spans from July 1 to September 30, the release of these foldable devices could be imminent.
These developments suggest that Xiaomi is not only aiming to set a new benchmark in the foldable market with the Mix Fold 4 but also to expand its foldable lineup, further cementing its position as a leading innovator in the smartphone industry.
