After the Google One VPN shutdown in late June, the “Dark Web reports” function is set to be available to all Google Account holders starting in late July 2024. Currently, Dark Web reports are only accessible to those with a Google One membership or subscription. Google monitors the dark web to notify users if their personal data has been found in data breaches and leaks. This service is available in 46 countries.
When opening the Google One application today, a pop-up banner confirmed that this feature would no longer be available within the app starting in late July. Instead of requiring the Google One application, Dark Web reports will be integrated into the “Results about you” section for all users with a consumer Google Account. This integration aims to help users stay aware of any personal data breaches.
“Results about you” helps users find out if their personal contact information, like home address, phone number, or email address, shows up in search results. Users can then request the removal of such search results. The combined solution of “Results about you” and Dark Web reports will allow users to monitor parts of the web for leaks of personal information, including name, address, phone number, and email.

Starting in late July 2024, Dark Web reports will no longer require a Google One membership, making it available to all users signed into their Google Accounts. This integration is part of Google's effort to enhance user privacy and protect against data breaches, which are increasingly common across various online services and products.
