Microsoft is broadening the reach of its $20 monthly Copilot Pro subscription, expanding it to additional markets starting today. Following its consumer launch in January, Copilot Pro is now available in a total of 222 countries. To encourage adoption of its AI-driven assistant, Microsoft is offering a complimentary one-month trial.
Subscribers to Copilot Pro gain various benefits, including priority access to the latest OpenAI models, the ability to create custom Copilot GPTs, and integration with Office apps for Microsoft 365 Personal or Home subscribers. Notably, Microsoft is extending Copilot Pro to Office web apps, allowing users to utilize the chatbot within Word, Outlook, and other free web applications without requiring a separate Microsoft 365 subscription.
Furthermore, this integration of Copilot Pro will soon extend to mobile apps. Divya Kumar, general manager of search and AI marketing at Microsoft, confirms that this benefit will be introduced to Microsoft's free mobile apps, such as the Microsoft 365 app and Outlook for iOS and Android, in the forthcoming months.
To access Copilot Pro, users need to install the Copilot app on iOS or Android to avail the free one-month offer. Microsoft has actively promoted the mobile app since its launch in late 2023, even featuring it in a dedicated Super Bowl ad.
Additionally, Microsoft is expanding Copilot for Microsoft 365 availability to more businesses. Eligible customers, including those with Microsoft 365 F3 and F1, Office 365 E1, and Business Basic subscriptions, will soon have the option to purchase Copilot for Microsoft 365.
Looking ahead, Microsoft plans to unveil further enhancements to Copilot, including updates tailored for Windows 11. These developments are expected to be showcased at the company's Build developer conference in May, indicating ongoing efforts to refine and expand Copilot's capabilities.
