Huawei P70 Series: Unofficial Pre-Orders Begin in China, Leaked Image Reveals Rear Camera Module Design

Huawei's rumored P70 series, the next flagship smartphone lineup from the Chinese tech giant, has stirred excitement as unofficial pre-orders have reportedly commenced in certain Chinese stores. Weibo tipster @FixedFocus disclosed that several stores in China have initiated blind pre-orders for the P70 series, with netizens sharing receipts online indicating reservations for the "P70 Pro 512GB." However, it's important to note that these pre-orders are not officially sanctioned by Huawei.

In another development, tipster @DigitalChatStation shared an alleged sketch of the P70, offering a glimpse of the phone's rear camera system. The design deviates from the P60's rectangular lens layout, featuring a squarish module. The leaked image suggests a prominent central lens, likely the main camera, flanked by an ultra-wide-angle lens and a periscope sensor, with the flash situated on the left edge of the camera module.

Compared to the P60 series, the P70 render showcases a larger camera module, and the phone exhibits curved edges with volume and power buttons on the left side. However, details about the front design are yet to be revealed. Previous reports speculate on a P70 family comprising three models: the P70, P70 Pro, and a premium "Art" version. The Art model is rumored to boast a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor and a high-end hybrid lens, potentially offering impressive camera performance.

Further rumors suggest that Huawei is testing the OmniVision OV50H sensor for potential inclusion in the P70 lineup. The OV50H boasts a 50-megapixel resolution and an optical format size of 1/1.3 inches, with a pixel size of 1.2μm, differing from the 1.6μm pixel size of the 1-inch Sony IMX989.

It's essential to approach these details with caution as they are leaks and not official confirmations from Huawei. The exact release date and specifications for the P70 series remain unknown, and further information should be awaited until an official unveiling by Huawei.
