ASUS ROG Phone 8 Design Revealed in Official Image Ahead of Global Launch

As we approach the Consumer Electronics Show 2024 (CES) in Las Vegas, ASUS has generated significant anticipation by announcing a Republic of Gamers (ROG) event scheduled a day before the annual tech event begins on January 9. Speculations suggest that ASUS could unveil multiple laptops and the next-generation ROG Phone 8 series at the event, with the latter confirmed to launch in China on January 16. Ahead of the official launch, an official image of the ASUS ROG Phone 8 has surfaced, providing a clear look at the upcoming gaming smartphone.

An initial teaser of the ROG Phone 8 hinted at a redesigned camera module, and ASUS conducted a blind camera test on its official website. The test asked visitors to choose the best-looking photo in various scenarios, and upon completion, the page revealed the ROG Phone 8, showcasing the device's back panel design.

The ASUS ROG Phone 8 exhibits a boxy frame, distinct from the slim profile of its predecessor. The back panel features a dual-tone design, with lighter and darker shades of the same color variant (Grey and Black). A protruding squarish camera module on the right edge houses a large sensor, two smaller lenses, and an LED flash unit. The device's bottom part features the ROG's RGB logo.

The device has a curved design along the edges, and a USB-C port is visible on the left edge. The test also revealed categories mentioning 'telephoto (x3)' and 'telephoto (x10),' hinting at the possible inclusion of a telephoto camera in the ROG Phone 8 series.

The ASUS ROG Phone 8 is already confirmed to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, promising high performance for gaming enthusiasts. The upcoming launch event is eagerly awaited by fans and tech enthusiasts to explore the full range of features and capabilities of the ROG Phone 8.
