Oura has acquired Sparta Science, a health tracking startup, marking its third acquisition in two years. Oura, known for its health-focused smart rings, previously acquired Proxy, a digital identity platform, and Veri, a company focused on metabolic and diabetes health tracking. Sparta Science's health platform, Trinsic, which monitors vital health data for enterprise clients, will be integrated into Oura’s B2B service, Oura Business. This service allows companies to bulk-purchase Oura Rings for employees, providing options for employees to customize the ring size and color.
Oura’s chief commercial officer highlighted the strategic move, emphasizing Oura’s capability to manage population health at scale. Sparta’s technology has been used by clients like the Department of Defense, supporting Oura’s mission to enhance remote health monitoring for large groups.
With this acquisition, Oura will continue to support Sparta’s force plates — a tool that assesses physical health through data on balance, strength, and stability — until the end of the year, after which production will cease. This integration comes shortly after the release of Oura Ring 4 in October, as the company advances its position in the health wearables industry by expanding both its consumer and enterprise offerings.
