Google is now rolling out 'Gemini Live' feature to all Android users for free

Last month, Google introduced the Pixel 9 series along with several new AI features, including Pixel Studio, an enhanced Magic Eraser, and Gemini Live, a cutting-edge AI-powered feature that allows users to engage in natural conversations with Gemini.

Initially, Gemini Live was available only to users with a Gemini Advanced subscription. However, according to a recent report by 9to5Google, Google is now rolling out this feature to all Android users for free. To access Gemini Live, users can open the Gemini app on their phone and tap the “new circular waveform with a sparkle icon in the bottom right corner” of the Gemini app or overlay.

Once the icon is tapped, a fullscreen window with "Hold" and "End" buttons will appear at the bottom of the screen. Users can also exit the fullscreen interface and continue using their phone while engaging in a conversation with Gemini. To stop Gemini Live, users can tap the notification or simply say "Stop." After the conversation ends, Gemini will provide a textual transcript of the interaction, and all responses will be stored in the history section, allowing users to resume the conversation if needed.

In addition to the core functionality, Gemini Live now offers 10 new voices, though the feature is currently limited to devices set to the English language. While it does not yet support Gemini Extensions, which would allow the AI to access services like Gmail and YouTube Music, Google has announced plans to integrate this functionality in the future.

Although the rollout of Gemini Live has begun, availability may vary, and some users might not see the new functionality on their devices immediately. Google appears to be releasing the feature gradually.
