Intel Expands Automotive AI Presence with Zeekr Collaboration and Unveils 14th Gen Processors for Mobile and Gaming Desktops

Intel is making significant inroads into the automotive industry by introducing specialized AI chips based on its PC AI technology. The company is set to collaborate with Chinese automaker Zeekr, making it the first to adopt Intel's AI system-on-chip (SoC) for integrating AI voice assistants and video conferencing capabilities into their vehicles.

In addition to its foray into automotive AI, Intel has unveiled the Intel Core Gen 14 processors targeting mobile and gaming desktops. Leading the mobile lineup is the Intel Core i9-14900HX, featuring an impressive 24 cores and a turbo frequency of up to 5.8 GHz. This chip is tailored for high-performance gaming laptops catering to enthusiasts and supports up to 192GB of DDR5 RAM. The processor also boasts compatibility with Thunderbolt 4 and 5, Wi-Fi 6E and 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and Intel anticipates that more than 60 new laptops from various hardware partners will hit the market this year, equipped with the 14th Gen HX processors.

On the desktop side, Intel introduces the Core i9-14900 with 24 cores and a 5.8 GHz turbo frequency, along with the Core i7-14700 featuring 20 cores. The entire desktop processor lineup, consisting of 13 new processors, is currently available for purchase both online and in retail stores. Intel asserts that the new processors offer up to a 37% increase in performance compared to the previous generation.

Additionally, Intel is introducing the Intel Core mobile processor Series 1 family, led by the Intel Core i7 processor with 10 cores and a turbo frequency of 5.4 GHz. Designed for thin and light systems, these chipsets are expected to be available in the first quarter of 2024.


Intel's expansion into AI for automobiles and its latest processor offerings signify the company's commitment to pushing technological boundaries across diverse sectors, from automotive innovation to high-performance computing.
