Nothing is rumored to unveil its affordable smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2a, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2024. Although the London-based tech startup has not officially confirmed the phone's existence or launch plans, a news report claims to have sourced alleged key specifications from social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The Nothing Phone 2a is reported to feature a dual-camera setup on the back with a horizontal orientation. The main sensor is expected to be a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KGN9 1/1.5-inch sensor, paired with a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 1/2.76-inch ultra-wide-angle sensor. Both these sensors have been used in previous Nothing Phone models. On the front, the phone is said to have a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor in a punch-hole setup.
In terms of display, the Nothing Phone 2a is rumored to sport a fullHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset and offered in configurations of up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Reports also mention a redesigned Glyph interface based on the second-generation version introduced with Phone 2.
The operating system is speculated to be Android 14 based on Nothing OS 2.5. While these specifications are based on rumors and leaks, official confirmation is awaited, and details may change when the phone is officially unveiled.
