Apple Vision Pro Battery Details Revealed: 3,166 mAh Capacity with 13V 6A Output, Proprietary Connector, and Noteworthy Performance Boost

The reviews for the Apple Vision Pro are out, shedding light on its battery specifications. During the initial pre-orders, Apple provided estimates of two hours of "general use" and 2.5 hours of video watching for the battery. These estimates have proven accurate, if not slightly conservative.

The previously undisclosed capacity of the Vision Pro's battery is now revealed to be 3,166 mAh. Despite its seemingly modest size relative to the device's dimensions and weight (353g), there's a unique aspect to consider.

The battery boasts a maximum output of 13V 6A, surpassing the typical voltage of 3.8V found in phone batteries. If we convert this to the standard phone battery voltage, the equivalent capacity would be approximately 9,440 mAh, akin to a 10,000 mAh power bank. This high voltage output contributes to the device's performance and longevity.

The Vision Pro's external battery features a proprietary connector for seamless attachment to the headset. Additionally, it incorporates a USB-C port for charging, utilizing Apple's bundled 30W wall charger. The proprietary connector employs a twist-to-lock system, ensuring a secure and efficient connection with the headset.

Apple offers extra battery packs for the Vision Pro at $200 each. However, it's important to note that these batteries are not hot-swappable. Disconnecting the cable results in the headset powering down, requiring a reboot upon connecting the new battery.


The Vision Pro is set to launch in the US on February 2, with plans for availability in additional countries later in the year. As users explore the device's features, the innovative battery design adds a unique dimension to its overall performance and user experience.
