Apple's Vision Pro Mixed-Reality Headset Launch Reportedly Delayed to March 2024

Apple is reportedly planning to unveil its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset in March 2024, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The launch date, initially set for January, was delayed due to manufacturing challenges. Gurman mentioned that Apple is still finalizing distribution plans and conducting additional testing. The Vision Pro headset has a complex internal design, leading to significant cuts in the production forecast, with less than 400,000 units expected in 2024. The initial launch will focus on the US market, with a gradual expansion to other regions throughout the year and a global launch by the end of 2024.

According to reports, Apple has started training select retail employees in the US at its Cupertino headquarters to prepare for the Vision Pro's launch. The Apple Vision Pro is an augmented and virtual reality headset known for its unique feature of spatial photos and videos. These spatial photos and videos aim to immerse users in a moment in time.

Additionally, Apple has begun testing spatial video recording on iPhone 15 Pro models with the iOS 17.2 beta update. The new feature allows users to record spatial videos that can be viewed in the Photos app, enhancing the overall mixed-reality experience.
