OnePlus's highly anticipated foldable phone, known as the OnePlus Open, is set to launch on October 19th, according to a leak from tipster Max Jambor. This release date comes after a delay attributed to a change in the display panel supplier. Although OnePlus has not officially confirmed this date, the leak suggests that the company might miss its previously announced third-quarter launch timeline. More details are expected to be revealed by OnePlus in the coming weeks.
Previous leaks have already provided insights into the OnePlus Open's features and specifications. Leaked renders have shown a compact form factor, a wide aspect ratio, and a prominent circular camera module on the rear. The device is rumored to withstand up to 400,000 fold cycles and boast a periscope camera lens, quad speakers, and an alert slider. Its internal display is said to measure 7.8 inches with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, it's expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage, while a 4,800mAh battery with 67W fast charging support is anticipated.
