Nokia Unveils Pure UI: A New User Interface Design Language for Consistency and Flexibility

The Nokia Design Team has introduced a new user interface design language called "Pure UI," which is intended for various Nokia products, excluding those produced under license with the Nokia brand. Pure UI is designed to be consistent, flexible, and future-proof, aligning with the current trend of clean and minimalistic design.

Key components of Pure UI include templates and guidelines that define the overall look, as well as the Nokia Pure typeface, which will be prominently featured throughout the user interface. The typeface is a significant part of the new design.

Pure UI also includes new icons based on strokes, allowing for variable thickness to accommodate different display requirements and device capabilities. These icons feature smooth animations to grab the user's attention when necessary.

To ensure consistency, the Nokia team has developed standard elements that designers can use to create screens with a cohesive appearance. Additionally, Pure UI supports dark mode, adjusting elements and icons accordingly to provide a seamless experience.

Pure UI is designed to be versatile, suitable for displays of all sizes, from wrist-worn devices to large wall-mounted panels. Its powerful components make it ideal for creating complex web-based dashboards and various applications. Pure UI is planned and developed for future Nokia devices and will not be available for it's smartphones manufactured by HMD Global.
